Prof Dr Hans-Otto Pörtner - Working Group II Co Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), latest report in February 2022
As a business school, we see it as our duty to enable organisations to pursue socially responsible and ethical business at a global scale.
Research from our departments of Economics, Finance and Accounting and Management is structured around three important themes, all of which are focused on helping address climate change and other major issues such as biodiversity loss, rising poverty and social inequalities:
Environmentally, we need to recognise that businesses and organisations have an integral role to play in combatting the climate crisis. Our research aims to find ways to live and work that minimise damage to the natural world.
If we are to confront these big problems, we need effective and responsible leadership, in business, government, and both nationally and internationally. Our business school plays a particularly significant role in helping to educate and develop leaders who are driven by a desire to do good and have a positive impact on the world.
We also need to recognise and grasp opportunities to innovate and harness the latest technology to tackle the complex challenges we face as individuals, within organisations, and as societies as a whole.
Exeter Expertise provides thought leadership on our latest academic insights around these three core themes. Above all, it provides practical insights on how to implement the different ideas discussed within your organisations.
I do hope you find it interesting, thought-provoking and above all useful.
