Prof Dr Hans-Otto Pörtner - Working Group II Co Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), latest report in February 2022
As a business school, we must and can take action to help in the fight against climate change.
Research at Exeter is focused around three important themes, all of which are focussed on helping address this and other major issues such as biodiversity loss, rising poverty and social inequalities:
Environmentally, we need to recognise that we are an integral part of the planet, and find ways to live, work and play in ways that minimise the damage to the natural world.
There is the opportunity to innovate and harness the latest technology to tackle the complex challenges we face as individuals, within organisations, and as society overall.
However, if we are to face down these big problems, we need effective and responsible leadership, in business, government, nationally and internationally. As a business school, we play a particularly significant role in helping to educate and develop leaders who are driven by a desire to do good and make a difference.
In Exeter Expertise, our aim is to share our latest academic insights on these three core themes. Importantly, we also want to provide practical insights for readers on how to implement different ideas in their own careers and within their organisations.
I do hope you find the various blogs and podcasts interesting, thought-provoking and above all useful.
